March 31, 1848, as the beginning of the Spiritualist movement. On that date, Kate and Margert Fox, of Hydesville, New York, reported that they had made contact with a spirit that was later claimed to be the spirit of a murdered peddler whose body was found in the house, though no record of such a person was ever found. Many early participants in Spiritualism were radical Quakers and others involved in the mid-nineteenth-century reforming movement. These reformers were uncomfortable with the more mainstream churches because those churches did little to fight slavery and women's rights. The church works on nine principles and services include healing and mediumship.
A circle s a group that is not and official church in the NSAC but practices and studies Spiritualism. We do have a NSAC certified revered, Janice Highwart, and some of us have memberships through Golden Rule Church in Michigan. We have Lyceum (spiritualist topics) and services on Sundays. We also have Meditation for Mediumship on Tuesday evenings.
I ask the Great Unseen Healing Force
To remove all obstructions from my mind and body
and to restore me to perfect health.
I ask this in all sincerity and honesty and I will do my part.
I ask this Great Unseen Healing Force to help both present and absent ones
Who are in need of help and to restore them to perfect health.
I put my trust in the love and power of God.
